We collect personal information to communicate with you, drive the development of our solutions and support you as a user. This information is primarily your contact info and sometime your IP address (when activating a software license for example).
We do not share or sell this information to an external company for marketing or promotional purposes.
And now for the details…
Protein Metrics collects personally-identifiable information when you license our products, on certain areas of the Site when users register, request publications or other information, sign up for conferences and events, apply for jobs, and participate in user posting areas, such as surveys. The personally-identifiable information collected may consist of information that you provide, such as names, mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and, for recruiting purposes, any other personally-identifiable information on your resume. In addition, and in some circumstances, Protein Metrics collects certain information that you do not visibly enter, such as your IP address, a machine ID, and a time stamp of when the product version check is being requested.
Protein Metrics uses your personally-identifiable information to fulfill your requests for information, to process software activation and deployments, to process your requests to participate in conferences and events, to evaluate any job applications or other employment-related inquiries that you may submit, or for such other business purposes as you may initiate or request. We may keep any of your personally-identifiable information on file and use it to contact you to update you on Product information or for recruiting purposes. Protein Metrics may provide your personally-identifiable information to any of its affiliates worldwide for such purposes.
Protein Metrics shall not intentionally disclose or transfer (and shall take reasonable steps to protect the confidentiality and security, and to prevent the unauthorized or accidental disclosure of) your personally-identifiable information to third parties (i.e., persons or entities that are not affiliates of Protein Metrics), whether for such third parties’ marketing purposes or otherwise, subject only to the following four exceptions: Protein Metrics may disclose your personally-identifiable information to third parties in the event that such disclosure is required by the laws, rules, or regulations of any nation, state, or other applicable jurisdiction; Protein Metrics may disclose your contact information to third parties as appropriate for Protein Metrics to make transmissions or deliveries to you; Protein Metrics may disclose your personally-identifiable information if, in connection with submitting the information, you consent to such disclosure; and Protein Metrics may disclose contact information for you in response to inquiries by bona-fide rights owners in connection with allegations of infringement of copyright or other proprietary rights arising from information you have posted on the Site or otherwise provided to Protein Metrics.
Personally-identifiable information collected by us may be transferred from time to time to Protein Metrics offices or personnel, or to third parties, located throughout the world, including offices located in the United States.
Protein Metrics understands the importance of protecting children’s privacy, especially in an on-line environment. The Site is not intentionally designed for or directed at children 13 years of age or younger, and Protein Metrics will not intentionally collect or maintain information about anyone under the age of 13.
Our products are intended for both personal use and use by organizations. Where our products are made available to you through an organization (e.g. your employer), that organization is the administrator of the products and is responsible for products over which it has control. If this is the case, please direct your data privacy questions to your administrator, as your use of our products is subject to that organization’s policies. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of an administrator’s organization, which may be different than this policy.
Even if our products are not currently administered to you by an organization, if you are a member of a team administered by an organization, or if you use an email address provided by an organization (such as your work email address) to access or register for our products, then the administrator of that team or the owner of the domain associated with your organizational email address (e.g. your employer) may assert administrative control over your account and use of our products at a later date.
You have certain choices available to you when it comes to your information. You have the right to request a copy of your information, to object to our use of your information (including for marketing purposes), to request the deletion of your information, or to request an electronic copy of your information. You can exercise these choices by visiting www.proteinmetrics.com/GDPR-Compliance. Where the Protein Metrics products and services are provided by your company or by an administrator, you may need to contact your administrator to assist with your requests first.
Your request and choices may be limited in certain cases: for example, if you ask to delete information which we or your administrator are permitted by law or have compelling legitimate interests to keep. If you have unresolved concerns, you may have the right to complain to a data protection authority in the country where you live, where you work or where you feel your rights were infringed.
